The Exhibition

El Reial Cercle Artístic, Oblyon and The Shopping Night Barcelona; have the pleasure on inviting you to the first exhibition of the photograph Brian Aris in Spain, that will take place at the Reial Cercle Artístic, from November 18th until December 14th.

Brian Aris has one of the largest and most diverse photographic libraries online. In his work we can see great moments and relevant passages of the contemporary history. His known worldwide for his reportages and studio photographs.

His photographs in the Northern Ireland were printed around the World, producing a great social awareness. Just a short time later one of his photographs of Princess Anne visiting the African country of Sudan was published on the cover of British Vogue.

Work with Save the Children Fund in Vietnam and Middle East was followed by his first visit to photograph the devastating famine in Ethiopia.

After 10 years of reportage photography, he opened his first studio in London. Then he began to cover the explosion in British music throughout the 80’s and 90’s. Those sessions included work with David Bowie, The Police, Sting, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Blondie, Madonna, Van Morrison…

His sutdio work is composed by photographs of actors, writers, musicians and politics. He was commissioned to take the official photographs of Her Majesty The Queen to mark her 70th Birthday.

He was the official photographer summoned by Bob Geldof to take the now famous Ban Aid: George Michael, Sting, Dire Straits, Michael McDonald, Human League, Boomtown Rats, Mike Oldfield, Pet Shop Boys, Cliff Richard, Tina Turner, Elton John, The Who, Blondie…

As a contributor to The National Portrait Gallery in London he had several images in the exhibition celebrating supermodel Twiggy’s life, with whom Brian Aris had a great relation. “He has a great eye for composition and his lighting in superb”.
